Authorized Signature Cards

Telephone calls or emails to request the dismissal of students or excuse their tardies or absences are not accepted by the school. For any documentation regarding tardies or absences, a note signed by an authorized parent/guardian is required. In order to ensure that the signature is authentic, all parents/guardians will have an Authorized Signature Card on file. The Card must be signed in person at the school or notarized. If a student's parent/guardian does not have a Card on file, Attendance office personnel will call the parent/guardian to verify the note in order to dismiss or excuse the student.  A parent/guardian may fax a note or take a picture of a note (which includes the parent signature) and email it to RitenoDD@pwcs.edu.

Students who do not present notes with approved authorized signatures, present notes without signatures, or present notes with unauthorized signatures may face disciplinary action.

Procedure for Absences

Pre-approved Absence forms are available at the school.

For absences that are not pre-approved, parents/guardians will write, sign, and submit an excuse note to the Attendance Office within two (2)days of the absence. The note must contain the student's full name, the date of the absence, the reason for the absence, and the authorized signature. Cases in which notes are not received within two (2) days will be referred to an administrator. Excuses are not accepted by telephone or email.

Procedure for Tardy to School

Students who are late to school must present a note at the time they arrive. The note must contain the student's full name, the date of the tardy, the reason for the tardy, and the authorized signature. Excuses are not accepted by telephone or email.

If a parent/guardian is not available to provide a note that morning, the parent/guardian must email the Attendance Office prior to the student signing in. This is the only reason a parent/guardian may email the Attendance office. Please email the Attendance Office RitenoDD@pwcs.edu and include all of the information listed in the paragraph above.

Students reporting tardy without a proper note or advance phone call will receive an unexcused tardy.
