UPDATED 6/18/2020:

Students and Parents, thank you for your patience as we work through the complications of the situation in which we find ourselves.

Mr. Cunningham nor I have received, nor are we accepting, Candidate Information Packets at this time. Due to the uncertain nature of when and how we will return to school, we are developing several options for both electronic and in-person submission of CIP. After the packets have been submitted, the process of reviewing them occurs with the Faculty Council.  As soon as we are able to implement a plan, the Battlefield NHS website will be updated and information will be disseminated to all concerned. At this time, if you wish to continue working on your CIP, I believe that is an excellent idea so that when submissions are accepted, you will be ready to go. Students can download the Candidate Information Packet and Recommendation Forms. Please disregard the dates on the SIP stating turn in by March 27th. That is obviously a deadline that is no longer in effect.

Additionally, please refer your email communication to either Mr. Cunningham or myself. We will ensure administration is aware of any issue that requires attention at that level.

5/20/2020: NHS Senior Graduation Stoles will be picked up during the Diploma pick-up at a day and time in June to be determined. Stay tuned for more details as the process is finalized.

5/19/2020: NHS Senior Graduation Stoles have been ordered.

05/18/20: In accordance with PWCS policy, Graduating Seniors who met the Battlefield High School National Honor Society Chapter's 3.5 Grade Point Average requirement at the end of 1st semester, and did not receive their National Honor Society Eligibility letter on March 13, are encouraged to reach out to Mr. Bishop, Mr. Cunningham, or Mr. Hintosh prior to May 22,2020.

04/30/2020: Students and parents, regardless of affiliation with the National Honor Society, are invited to register for a free webinar that discusses what students should do after being accepted into a college or university. Click on the link provided to register.

04/24/2020: Dear Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff: At this point in the process, everything is on hold until further notice. The Chapter Officers and Advisers are awaiting more detailed input from local, state, and national sources and are working to develop responses to the current virus-related school closure regarding eligibility letters, Candidate Information Packets, due dates, service requirements for current members, applications for Executive Committee, etc.

Seniors: We are working on a plan to ensure you receive your NHS stole but as with most aspects of life during this COVID-19 situation, there is some uncertainty with regard to how and when that will be completed. Continue to monitor this webpage to see new information as it becomes available.

There are many unknowns at this point, and we ask for your patience. More information will be posted here following decisions and guidance from the principal and/or superintendent. Please continue to check this page for updated information. In the meantime, follow the directions and precautions established by PWCS.

Process Update: As of today, Friday, March 13, the GPA report for Battlefield High School students has been reviewed and students with a 3.5+ GPA have been contacted by letter* to determine their interest in completing a Student Candidate Information Packet. A National Honor Society information meeting will be conducted in the near future and students will be made aware of the date/time of the meeting.

*Due to events beyond the control of the NHS and its advisers--specifically the closings related to COVID-19 and Friday's excused absence allowed by the superintendent--some eligible students may not have received letters and/or some substitute teachers may not have known to hand them out. We ask for your patience at this time as we work with a constantly evolving situation. Thank you.

UPDATE: NHS Member Digital Badges
NHS & NJHS | National Honor Society | National Junior Honor Society

Coming Soon: Student Digital Badging

On January 29, the National Honor Society (NHS) and the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) will begin awarding digital badges to your student members throughCredly! Students can add these new digital badges to LinkedIn profiles, resumes, and more as a way to represent their NHS and NJHS affiliation and display their commitment to the pillars of membership.

Students who already have verified accounts will receive an email from Acclaim, the badge hosting platform, in the next few days with instructions on how to accept their digital badge and proudly display it on their LinkedIn profile or other social media platform.

Students who have unverified accounts will not receive a digital badge until their accounts are verified. Instructions for verifying student accounts can be found on theNHS and NJHS websites.

Students who do not yet have accounts should visit the NHS and NJHS websites to create them so that they are eligible to earn a badge during the next deployment in February. Beginning later this spring, badges will be awarded automatically when a student’s account is verified by their adviser.

National Honor Society staff presented a webinar on student account creation and digital badging. It’s provided here to watch on demand at your convenience to answer any questions you may have.
