Curbside Book Service


What: Battlefield Library is excited to offer weekly Curbside Book Service starting Wednesday, September 16th and continuing during virtual instruction!

How: Students will place books on hold, opt to receive a Bobcat Book Bundle (surprise book selection!), or indicate the need to return books by filling out a Curbside Form at http://bit.ly/bhscurbside.

  • Students will receive an email notification when book(s) are ready
  • Placing Holds: We encourage students to search and explore our collection for specific titles.
         o The catalog can be found at http://library.pwcs.edu. Be sure to select Battlefield High School.

  • Students may also request books through the Bobcat Curbside Form

How Many? Students can check out up to 5 books at a time for 2 weeks. When books are returned, new books may be checked out. Overdue books must be returned or paid for (if damaged or lost) before new check-outs, including any from previous school years. As always, there are NO fines for overdue books returned in good condition.

Pick-Up
When: Books placed on hold and requested through the Bobcat Curbside Form by 2 p.m. on Tuesday should be ready for pick-up on Wednesday between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

  • A Bobcat Curbside Form MUST be completed, with the notification agreement selected, in order to pick up books on Wednesday.
  • Students will receive email confirmation that titles are ready before picking up.

Where: After calling 703-743-3536 to announce your arrival, books can be picked up from a designated cart brought out at Door 4 by the student lot. A print-out with your name will be attached to your book(s).

Returns
When: Books can be returned on Wednesdays between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. if a Bobcat Curbside Form is completed. If you are returning books AND checking out books at the same time, please indicate that on your form. 

Where: After calling 703-743-3536 to announce your arrival, books can be returned to a 
designated cart brought out at Door 4 by the student lot. When library items are returned, they will enter quarantine for 72 hours (as recommended by AASL) before they can be checked out again. Please do not attempt to heat, bleach, spray, or otherwise sanitize your library materials.

Renewals
How: Students will be given one virtual renewal per set of materials, if requested via PWCS email and the materials aren’t being held for or requested by another patron.
