Battlefield High School Class of 2026

Graduation Information

The Graduation Ceremony for the Battlefield High School Class of 2026 will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at Eagle Bank Arena at GMU's Fairfax Campus.

Seniors: Mandatory Senior Events & Graduation Decorum

Senior Clearance/Graduation Practice

There will be mandatory Senior clearance and graduation practice on May 28 at 8 a.m. at Battlefield High School.

This will be the time to turn in any outstanding items and pay any remaining fees owed.

This event generally runs from two hours to two and a half hours.  Students should have their own transportation home immediately following practice as they are not allowed to remain in the building.

Graduation Decorum

There will be a Graduation Decorum meeting on April 29, 2026 at 9:15 a.m.  Attendance is required.

All students are required to wear their purple or white cap and gown ordered through Jostens. Caps may be decorated but must be two-dimensional and must be pre-approved by an administrator at graduation practice. Gowns may not be decorated.

All students should wear dress clothes (dresses, skirts, or dress slacks are acceptable). Dress shoes should also be worn. Keep in mind that you will be walking up a ramp and downstairs when choosing your shoes. Ties are optional.

Please do not bring purses, as they are not allowed by EagleBank Arena, or anything "extra" as you will not be able to carry them across the stage with you and we will not have staff on hand to collect and keep the items during the ceremony.

Use the following link for complete decorum details. Decorum 2026

MANDATORY:
After reviewing the Graduation Decorum guidelines, seniors must complete the Graduation Acknowledgment of Decorum Form.

Student Departure Following Ceremony:
EagleBank Arena ushers and security will help direct the recessional of graduates to the outside North entry. This is where you can meet your graduate following the ceremony.

Parent Arrival Time & Entry Information

Parents may enter the arena beginning at 8:30 a.m. EagleBank staff will assist with entry and staff will be around the arena passing out programs.

For any assistance with handicapped seating, the arena staff will be on hand to assist.

No Balloons, Noisemakers, Selfie Sticks/Tripods, and Signs/Flags larger than 18”x18” are allowed inside EagleBank Arena.

Parking and Accessible Seating

Parking

Parking at EagleBank Arena can at times be very limited. Please ask your graduates to carpool when at all possible.

Any special parking needs or requests (bus parking, VIP’s, etc.) must be discussed in advance with EagleBank Arena management. Parking lot availability is constantly changing and may vary from school to school based on other events on campus, traffic patterns, road closures, construction, etc.

George Mason University Police and EagleBank Arena parking attendants will be on campus and in parking lots to help direct patrons to the closest available parking at the time of the ceremony.

Accessible Seating

If a family member comes into the building in a wheelchair (that they brought with them), and they need to remain in the wheelchair for the event, EagleBank Arena has available wheelchair seating in each corner of the concourse (Portal 4, 8, 13, and 17). This space is extremely limited and as such we ask that no more than one family member sit with them in the wheelchair area. It is available on a first come, first serve basis.

EagleBank Arena provides accessible seating for patrons who may have difficulty with steps. Approximately 400 accessible seats are reserved via signage for each graduation, and are available on a first-come, first-seated basis. When entering the building, patrons are level with row F, which is 12 rows from the floor. This row has no stairs to climb. All other seating in the building is up or down the stairs from this level, with railings in most locations. EagleBank Arena staff will place signs on rows E, F, and G, as a means of reserving them for those patrons who cannot negotiate stairs. We ask that only one family member sit with this person, as this seating is limited. The rest of the family can then usually find seating nearby in the section, a few rows above or below these concourse level rows.

EagleBank Arena does not rent out wheelchairs. There are a limited number of wheelchairs in-house which can be used to help transport patrons from the entrance to a seat but cannot be used by someone for the entire event. The main entries are wheelchair accessible; there are no steps or elevators to navigate. Accessible parking is available outside the South entry.
