Battlefield is the Center for Applied Sciences, Interactive, and Information Technology (CASIIT), an innovative program that emphasizes the use of technology and data in all jobs, in all industries, and all futures. The skills learned in the CASIIT program will help students excel in every career and every field with the depth of technology embedded in the economy. Our wide array of course offerings can prepare students for a future in computer science, information technology, interactive technology, cyber security, engineering, robotics, and sustainability.
CASIIT students have the opportunity to take courses through Northern Virginia Community College with an array of dual enrollment course opportunities. Several of these courses also provide students with the opportunity to take an industry certification exam including Network+, Security+, CCNA, and Oracle.
Battlefield's committed teachers regularly provide on-demand after-school enrichment, tutoring, and remediation and formalized, targeted intervention programs to meet the academic needs of identified or referred learners. Formal groups ranging from professional organizations and honor societies to impromptu teacher-student work sessions regularly provide support, scaffolding, and additional content. Our robust special and gifted education programs ensure support for the full spectrum of students.
From business groups to community service programs, Battlefield High School offers a rich tapestry of opportunities to get involved in something meaningful. Bobcat Athletics provide a full range of competitive sporting activities; our renowned arts programs afford outstanding music, art, and drama performance and participation experiences; and our CASIIT program, robotics, debate, and service organizations have been regionally, nationally, and internationally competitive and recognized.
Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), Marching Band Boosters, Choral Boosters, Athletic Boosters Club, and the Principal's Advisory Committee, provide community members with the opportunity to integrally support and promote learning at Battlefield High School.
The motto of Battlefield High School is "Success is a Choice," and by that credo BHS has been named a PWCS School of Excellence seven times.
At Battlefield High School, we believe that student learning is the highest priority and all students can learn to their fullest potential. Students will develop their individual talents, critical thinking and technology skills by being actively engaged in the learning process. Continuous commitment to improvement ensures that our students are well-rounded, self-directed, lifelong learners. By maintaining a safe and optimum learning environment, we provide the opportunity for students to be successful learners. Promoting high standards and expectations, our teachers, administrators, parents and the community share the responsibility for advancing the school's mission. Anything and everything is possible: Success is a Choice.
Every Battlefield High School student will achieve personal success and become a responsible and productive citizen.
