Attendance Reporting

Use ParentVUE to excuse a student absence.

Directions for Reporting Current or Future Absences in ParentVUE.

Here are some very important points about using ParentVUE:

  • Using ParentVUE will help expedite your student's attendance to update quickly and help reduce those attendance office-generated text alerts.
  • This applies to full day absences only, from the current date forward (you cannot use this to request that past absences be excused).
  • Please remember to include the student’s full name, the reason for the absence, and the dates that need to be excused in your request—otherwise the request cannot be approved.
  • This does not apply to requests for early dismissals or tardies. You will need to email [email protected] for early dismissals and tardies.
  • This does not apply to absences for longer than 3 days. For absences longer than 3 days, please apply to your student's alpha administrator for permission.

Reporting Attendance

  • Absences:
To request that past absences be excused, parents should email the BFHS Attendance Office at [email protected]. The request must contain the student's name, reason for absence and dates, as well as the contact telephone numbers. This request must be received within five (5) days of the absence. Please reference the word ABSENCE in the subject line of your email message.
  • Early Dismissal:
If a student needs to leave early, the parent/guardian should email the BFHS Attendance Office at [email protected] at least an hour before the requested dismissal time. The request must include the full name of the student, reason for leaving and time of requested dismissal. Please reference the phrase EARLY DISMISSAL in the subject line of your email message.
  • Tardy:
If a student arrives prior to the end of 1st block (Black/ODD days) or 2nd block (Purple/EVEN days), they are to report directly to the e-hallpass kiosk in the Front Lobby. If the student is reporting after 1st or 2nd block, they should sign in at the Front Office. For the tardy to be excused, the parent/guardian should email the BFHS Attendance Office at [email protected]. Please reference the word TARDY in the subject line of your email message.

PWCS Regulation 724-1 : Attendance, Absences, Excuses and Tardies

Regular attendance is a critical component to face-to-face instruction. Students who are not able to attend class should check CANVAS for direction, instructional materials, and assignments and follow up with their teachers within two (2) blocks of their return to school. For our dual enrollment (DE) classes, please keep in mind that deadlines are firm.
